The Tree

The Tree

"Love God ...
         Love Others ...
               Share Jesus ..."

Matthew 22:37-39
Matthew 28:19-20

What do you see when you look at this tree.  It becomes the means of illustrating the life and ministry of First Baptist Church.  Notice the different parts of the tree

Love God:  The roots are  hidden and come together to form the trunk of the tree.  This represents our responsibility to "Love God".  Our relationship with Lord is in "the secret place."  Much of this is unseen by the world but is necessary for the strength of the believers spiritual life.  The trunk represents the church corporate as we come together.

Love Others:  The trunk of the tree becomes many branches representing the body of Christ extending out into the world, separated in space but not in sustenance.  This is the church loving others as we minister to each other and the world.

Share Jesus:  The leaves represent the ministry and witness to the world which results in fruit, the reproduction of believers as others receive Christ as a result of our sharing Jesus
